Supports the production of control umbilicals for Panama City, FL location by ensuring the material used in manufacturing meets Oceaneering's quality standards. The immediate duties are incoming quality inspection of materials and parts to verify they meet the acceptance criteria of the specifications (full scope of training will be done). After taking over the
incoming inspection, other duties may include providing quality control and validation of product during manufacturing process.
ESSENTIAL
Responsible for performing inspections of material, sub-assemblies, assemblies and finished products to predetermined acceptance criteria.
Read and interpret drawings; comprehend specifications and tolerances; read dial indicators and digital gages.
compare results to specifications and record test data.
Confer with engineers, technicians and production personnel as necessary in support of 2nd shift production,
generally, 3:00-11:30pm shift with the flexibility to rotate for shift coverage or vacation needs.
Review data supplied with materials and parts to acceptance criteria. May include dimensional reports, traceability reports and Certificates of Conformity.
Issue documents, investigates and tracks non-conformance and inspection records in Oceaneering's Quality
Management System software, (currently SmartSolve).
Support the organization's drive towards excellence in Quality Tenets, Health and Safety Conformance.
REQUIRED
Experience in a manufacturing environment, and/or a site that utilizes a quality control function.
Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) which requires a criminal background
check to allow access to work location.
Some user experience with basic computer experience.
Work 2nd shift 3pm-11:30pm with potential overtime and flexibility to cover other shifts as needed to support a 24/7
manufacturing facility.
DESIRED
Experience in a quality control function, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Actual user experience with Microsoft Office 365 (outlook, excel, word).
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Mechanically inclined and not afraid to help troubleshoot issues.
Skill to read and comprehend job related materials and documents.
Ability to quickly learn, understand, and operate a variety of measurement tools.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is considered SHOP/OUTDOORS WORK which is characterized as follows.
Primarily outdoors during the day and occasionally at night.
Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment
Humidity is frequently above 90%.
Light is intense/glare.
Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
Frequent exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
