POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Care Services Director, Registered Nurse for purposes of licensure (CNA Certification compliance and Senior Resources) and Our Friends House Operations Manager (Day to day scheduling compliance)

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: The primary aim of this position is to offer respite services to families with loved ones at Our Friends House, ensuring a secure and comfortable environment for all Our Friends House residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with bathing and hygiene.
• Assistance with activities of daily living
• Toileting
• Personal Care
• Respite for the Caregiver
• Observe report and record any change in client’s condition. All reporting to be done with the Our Friends House Operations Manager.
• General conversation and social support for the client.
• Assist with Cognitive Stimulation: Assist in implementing cognitive stimulation activities and exercises to help clients maintain or improve their cognitive function.
  • Prep, clean up, and run full activity at minimum once per week.
• Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for the diverse backgrounds and preferences of clients and their families.
• Safety Monitoring: Continuously monitor the environment for potential safety hazards and take appropriate measures to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Assist with Our Friend’s House preparation and clean up. This includes but is not limited to: Opening/closing duties, basic cleaning, sanitizing, dishes, decorating, and/or other duties necessary.
• Report any family/client communication, updates, and/or complaints to the Our Friends House Operations Manger in a timely manner.
• Required to attend all Team Meetings, in services, and trainings.
• All other duties assigned by supervisor.

These additional responsibilities contribute to the holistic care and well-being of adult day services clients, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs while ensuring their safety and comfort.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in providing care for senior individuals is preferred. Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Personal Care Aide (CPA) is not mandatory but welcomed.
• An enthusiasm for working with senior citizens.
• Ability to work with senior citizens with functional limitations.
• Ability to perform housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning tasks.
• Ability to lift objects and assist senior citizens during daily tasks.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work well within a team environment.
• Attention to attendance and timeliness.
• Proficient computer skills appropriate for the position, including use of agency e-mail for communication.
