Provide first aid care and health assessmentWrite care plans and coordinate the care of students with chronic or acute health conditionsCommunicate with teachers and staff to ensure the safety and well-being of studentsAdminister medications and monitor delegated medication administrationEducate and train staff on: asthma, life threatening allergies, diabetes, seizures, blood borne pathogens, and other health related topics as they arise.Maintain accurate charting and documentation.Review immunization recordsPerform or facilitate state mandated screenings.Be able to respond to medical emergencies; be able to use an AED appropriately, be CPR certified.Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene.Must hold a Rhode Island nursing license in good standing and CPR certification.
