Ocean's Edge Resort & Marina is Hiring a Shuttle Driver Near Key West, FL

Duties & Responsibilities

The Shuttle Driver’s job duties and responsibilities are to include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet and welcome all guests and visitors in a friendly manner.
  • Carry hotel guests to and from the hotel and downtown areas.
  • Assist passengers loading and unloading luggage on and off vehicle.
  • Maintain proper Heath Safety Standards set forth by hotel policies.
  • Be aware of current hotel and local attractions and restaurants to make recommendations to guests.
  • Maintain excellent conversation with hotel guests in a polite and profession manner and assist with directions.
  • Perform daily vehicle safety checklists before and after shifts.
  • Record proper passenger counts.
  • Report all routine maintenance and major vehicle issues to FOM.
  • Obey all traffic rules, regulations, and trip routes per hotel and state policies.
  • Obey all DOT guidelines.
  • Follow all policies and procedures per hotel guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Other duties and cross training as assigned by Manger on Duty.
  • Must comply with Company’s Appearance and Dress Code policy at all times.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current CDL drivers license required
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills
  • Detail oriented and organizational skills
  • Trustworthy, reliable and a team player able to work independently
  • Ability to work outdoors
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Previous hospitality driving experience preferred

Working Conditions

  • Spends most of time outdoors on daily basis.
  • Outdoor Conditions: exposure to varying weather conditions in non-sheltered areas. Walking required on all types of surfaces including, but not limited to: cement, tile, pavement. Some surfaces may be slippery when wet.
  • Indoor Conditions: temperature controlled, well-lighted and clean offices, public areas; walks on all types of surfaces including, but not limited to: tile, wood, carpet. Some surfaces may be slippery when wet.

Physical Demands

  • Stands and walks short distances throughout shift.
  • Sits majority of shift in a temperature controlled vehicle.
  • Occasional requirements to handle, lift and move objects up to 50lbs, over short distances.
  • Bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting required to perform routine job tasks.
  • Periodically required to work at a very fast pace and under pressure.

Impact of Decisions

Decisions that are made by the Shuttle Driver have a direct impact on customer service and the public image of the hotel. Poor decisions may result in customer dissatisfaction and loss of revenues due to unprofessional manner, lack of follow through, unsafe/dirty work practices, or improperly handled customer service situations.

Non-Exempt Position

Non-exempt employees are subject to the wage and hour laws entitled to overtime pay. All overtime work by a non-exempt employee must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor, department manager or the General Manager. Non-exempt employees who work overtime without prior approval are subject to disciplinary action, including termination.

At-Will Employment

The relationship between Oceans Edge Resort and Marina and the employee is for an unspecified term and is considered “at-will”. This means that the terms and conditions of employment may be changed, with or without cause and with or without notice, including, but not limited to termination, demotion, promotion, transfer, compensation, benefits, duties, and locations of work. Oceans Edge Resort and Marina reserves the right to modify and update the Position Description as needed.
