Job Summary:
The Gift Shop Associate at Ocean Place Resort & Spa will play an integral role in creating a positive and memorable experience for our guests. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a well-stocked and visually appealing gift shop, and promoting and selling merchandise to hotel guests and visitors. This full-time hourly position is based in Long Branch, New Jersey and reports to the Gift Shop Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner, assist with their inquiries, and provide information about the products available in the gift shop
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the gift shop, ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed and stocked
- Process cash, credit, and room charge transactions accurately and efficiently
- Promote and sell merchandise to hotel guests and visitors, actively utilizing product knowledge and suggestive selling techniques
- Monitor and track inventory levels, restocking and ordering merchandise as needed
- Attend regular meetings and training sessions to stay updated on product knowledge and sales techniques
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those for safety and security
- Other duties as assigned by the Gift Shop Manager or hotel management team
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-2 years of retail or sales experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Cash handling experience and basic math skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of POS systems
- Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times
