Job Title : Assistant Activities Coordinator Memory Care- Part-Time
Work schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 10 AM to 4 PM

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, psychology, or related field preferred.
Previous experience working with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and team members.
Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor, with a genuine passion for improving the quality of life for individuals living with memory impairment.
Ability to creatively adapt activities to meet the cognitive and physical abilities of residents.
Organizational skills and attention to detail for planning and documenting activities.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Position Overview:
We seek a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Activities Coordinator to join our team. The Assistant Activities Coordinator will work closely with the Activities Director to develop, organize, and implement a wide range of therapeutic and recreational activities tailored to our memory care residents' specific needs and interests.
Responsibilities:
Activity Planning and Implementation:
Assist in planning and executing various activities, including music therapy, art therapy, sensory stimulation activities, and physical exercises.
Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop activity schedules that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and emotional well-being.
Lead group activities and one-on-one interactions with residents, providing encouragement, guidance, and support as needed.
Resident Engagement:
Foster meaningful relationships with residents, getting to know their preferences, interests, and individual needs.
Encourage resident participation in activities, adapting activities to accommodate varying cognitive and physical abilities.
Maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere during activities, ensuring residents feel valued, respected, and included.
Documentation and Evaluation:
Assist in maintaining accurate records of resident participation in activities, documenting observations and outcomes.
Collaborate with the Activities Coordinator to evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make adjustments as needed to better meet the needs of residents.
Contribute to reports and assessments related to resident engagement and well-being.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other members of the care team, including caregivers, nurses, and therapists, to ensure holistic and person-centered care for residents.
Communicate effectively with team members to share insights, coordinate schedules, and address resident concerns or changes in behavior.
