Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs the day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
• Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping service with nursing and other departments when involved.
• Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies.
• Ensure that the assigned area is maintained in a clean, sanitary, and comfortable manner.
• Respect residents/patients privacy and personal possessions.
• Follow all appropriate safety precautions.
• Ensure all infection-control policies are followed.
• Clean all resident/patients rooms, furnishings, and all surfaces as instructed, daily.
• Clean all bathrooms following sanitary policies.
• Sweep and mop all floor surfaces as directed, using proper chemicals.
• Post all appropriate signs regarding wet floor, work area, etc.
• Do all housekeeping tasks of dusting, wiping, vacuuming, sweeping, disinfecting, deodorizing, buffing, and washing as required in any given area and as directed by the supervisor.
• Discard all waste/trash properly, cleaning receptacles when doing this task.
• Report all damages, hazards, and equipment/supply needs as soon as possible to your supervisor.
• Ensure that all equipment used is cleaned and stored properly.
• Ensure that all cleaning schedules are followed.
• Keep an adequate inventory of supplies in order to be able to perform the job.
• Assist with inventory control, ordering, storing, and maintaining of supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Perform all terminal cleaning procedures as required and requested.
• Turn in all found articles.
• Use chemicals appropriately and understand safety factors related to them.
• Participate in overall quality assessment and improvement.
• Conduct self in a professional manner, creating a warm and friendly environment.
• Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.
• Attending trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
• Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
• Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
• Look for and share ideas for improvement in the organization with leadership.
• Communicate with leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
• Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions, and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
• Perform all other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
