About the Role
The Senior Internal Auditor performs or assist in the planning and execution of compliance, operational and financial audits
Position Responsibilities
Determining the extent of compliance testing to be performed and the approach to be taken, based on the adequacy of controls.
Advising and instructing Internal audit staff assigned to audit projects and reviewing their work for sufficiency of scope for accuracy.
Making oral and/or written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of the audit, discussing deficiencies and making recommendations for corrective action to improve operations and reduce costs.
Audits records of Departments and interviews workers to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Inspects accounting systems to determine their efficiency and protective value.
Assesses the proper accountability of assets by conducting inventories.
Reviews records pertaining to staff and material assets, such as equipment and buildings, to determine degree to which they are utilized.
Essential Functions
Must have manual dexterity to allow for inputting data into computer software and be capable of viewing computer monitors for extended periods of time.
Must be able to read fine print areas of invoices and contracts.
Must be able lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs
Must be able to sit at work station for extended periods of time
Exposure to casino related environmental factors, including but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and stress related to high pressure and fast paced environment
Requirements
B.S./B.A. degree in accounting, finance or business from a four-year college or university
CPA, CIA or MBA (or active candidate) desirable
Minimum of three years prior auditing experience in accounting and/or internal auditing and/or
Knowledge of New Jersey C.C.C. rules and regulations of internal controls preferred
Ability to speak and comprehend English
Strong organizational and communication skills, strong judgment and analytical ability, as well as the ability to direct and manage people required
Hotel or gaming industry experience desirable
