Job Overview:

• The "Roofer & Waterproofing specialist" position will be the senior roofing specialist on an OC Solar Residential home jobsite, with extensive & comprehensive knowledge of water-proofing techniques, and the proper technique in installation of all roofing materials. He will report directly to the Foreman/Superintendent of the project and will be critical in ensuring that all points of entry into the home have been flashed, sealed & water-proofed for the duration of the roof's integrity. Sheet metal experience, and the ability to install in a professional manner every aspect of a complete roofing job is required. Applicants should have pro-longed experience and a vast knowledge of all required work for installing from start to finish: TPO, Rolled-Comp, Composite Shingle, Tile & Metal roof installations, flashings & the minor details required to complete each roof project with no further assistance or supervision.
• This position is a direct hire to join the "Solar Roof" team, as the Roofing specialist on-site.

• Metal Roof Installation:
• Measure and cut roofing materials to fit around obstacles such as vents, chimneys, and skylights, ensuring a precise and secure fit.
• Install metal roofing panels, flashings, gutters, and other components using appropriate techniques and fastening methods.
• Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and sealing of metal roofing elements to prevent leaks and ensure structural integrity.
• Prepare the surface of the roof by removing old roofing materials, cleaning the surface, and repairing any damaged areas to ensure a smooth and even base for the new roof.
• Fabrication and Customization:
• They apply sealants and flashing materials around roof penetrations and junctions to prevent water leaks and ensure waterproofing.
• Fabricate custom metal components such as ridge caps, valleys, and trim pieces to fit unique roof designs and architectural features.
• Utilize sheet metal bending, cutting, and other equipment to shape and manipulate metal materials according to project specifications.
• Incorporate decorative elements and architectural details into metal roofing systems to enhance aesthetics and functionality.
• Roof Repair and Maintenance:
• Inspect existing roofing systems to identify damage, corrosion, or wear and tear.
• Repair or replace damaged metal panels, flashings, and fasteners to restore the integrity of the roof and prevent water infiltration.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, sealing, and painting roofing components to prolong their lifespan and maintain appearance.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage on job sites.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices when handling tools, equipment, and materials.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards for metal roofing installation and construction.
• Operate various tools and equipment such as ladders, power saws, nail guns, and safety harnesses safely and effectively to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.

Skills:
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools for roofing tasks
- Knowledge of construction estimating for accurate material calculations
- Ability to weld or perform metal stud framing for specialized roofing projects
- Experience in remodeling or tile laying for roof repair or replacement
- Familiarity with blueprint reading to understand roof specifications
- Strong ability to build and repair roofs using various materials
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour DOE

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Roofing Sheet Metal: 5 years (Required)
• 10 years of residential/commercial roofing experience.
• Bilingual is a plus (Spanish & English).
• Good attitude.
• Good communication.

Willingness to travel:

• 10% (Preferred)
