Job Overview:
We are seeking a Medical Director for a newly formed Behavioral Health/Substance Abuse (drug and alcohol detox and residential) facility in Fort Myers, FL. The Medical Director will provide clinical support management and direction to the medical staff within the boundaries of standards mandated by Chapters 394 and 397 of the Florida Statutes and JCAHO. The Director will also provide administrative and supervisory duties for nurses and nurse aides.

Responsibilities:

· Manage the day-to-day activities and assessment of clients for Detox, Residential PHP and IOP levels of care.

· Supervises, and evaluates RNs, LPN, and Techs

· Complete Physical Exams (medical assessment) for all detox and RTC clients who admit. Presenting consumers shall be assessed as currently experiencing no apparent medical or neurological symptoms as a result of their substance use that would require hospitalization

· Complete Service Plans for clients admitting to detox

· Address any medical issues for clients on Residential unit

· Oversees ordering and disposal of controlled medications (this is a federal requirement), supplies, and equipment for program.

· In conjunction with Director of Nursing, plans and leads regularly scheduled detox staff meetings and promotes a positive working environment within the detox program.

· Provides professional and technical nursing support to the Executive Director and department clinical managers on patient health care policies and procedure, process improvement.

· Maintains effective, collaborative relationships with the community, including hospital, law enforcement, treatment programs and funders.

Qualifications:

· M.D or DO Board Eligible/Board Certified in Florida

· Addiction Medicine Certified

· Strong leadership and management skills

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
