Oars Senior Living Inc is Hiring a Medication Manager (Part Time) Near Citrus Heights, CA

Description

The Medication Manager is responsible for assisting residents with the self-administration of medications according to Physician's orders. Medication Managers are also responsible for the proper storing of medications, ordering/refilling medications, and following all medication practices per Medication Training, Title 22 Regulations, and Company Policies. The Medication Manager reports directly to the Healthcare Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist residents with the self-administration of medications according to their Physician's orders.
  • Accurately document when resident is given medication(s).
  • Follow PRN medication procedure and documentation requirements.
  • Document all medication deliveries/destruction of medications on the resident’s Centrally Stored Medication/Destruction Sheet.
  • Responsible for counting and logging narcotics.
  • Monitor and ensures accuracy of Medication Assistance Record (MAR); Reports issues to Healthcare Director.
  • Order medications in a timely manner according to written Physician orders and community policies.
  • Communicate to Physician, Family, Pharmacy, Healthcare Director/Wellness Nurse if resident misses or refuses any scheduled doses of medication.
  • Assist with destruction of medications per community’s policy.
  • Follow all universal and safety procedures.
  • Have the ability to follow all emergency protocols of the community and respond to emergencies as directed.
  • Responsible for securing medication cart keys at all times.
  • Provide safe environment for all residents.
  • Uphold respect and dignity for residents.
  • Complete assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Healthcare Director as needed.
  • Fulfill annual training requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance to HIPAA.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have passed the California approved Medications Management training for RCFE’s (Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly).
  • CNA certification helpful, but not required.
