Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Event Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the forefront of hosting events. The duties of an event manager include planning the layout and setup of an event, along with handling the staff that will cater to the guests. With the power to control the cost, scale and standard of the event, the responsibilities of the event manager are to maximize efficiency, while providing the best event experience to the guests. Planning and execution are the two major tasks that an assistant event manager primarily performs.

Responsibilities:

• Plan the number of waiters, servers and other staff required
• Monitor the placement of tables, décor, chairs and cutlery of an event, as per the theme and standards that are pre-defined
• Ensure that the documentation of the schedule and timelines are in place
• Collaborate with our culinary team and brief them on the various meal courses
• Negotiate with various vendors and train the eventing assistants to do the same
• Adhere to local laws and regulations while executing the event manager's responsibilities
• Address and resolve any issues that arise during events.
• Monitor inventory of event supplies and equipment.
• Assist in training and mentoring new staff members.
• Collaborate with our event coordinators to effectively plan and execute events, ensuring successful event outcomes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working as a event manager, assistant event manager, or in the hotel industry
• Bachelor’s degree, or certificate in catering and hospitality
• Knowledge of common catering management software

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
