OakView Nursing & Rehabilitation is Hiring an ADON R.N. Near Burlington, IA

  • Must hold and maintain a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in State,
  • C.P.R. Certified
  • Develops, implements, directs, and evaluates the facility’s Restorative Nursing Program.
  • Meets and consults with the facility’s interdisciplinary team on a regular basis.
  • Ensures that the restorative nursing program complies with applicable laws, regulations, and national restorative nursing standards and requirements.
  • Participates in the admission process by meeting with new residents.
  • Provides guidance to Restorative/Rehab Aide staff which includes checking their work to ascertain that assignments have been completed.
  • Assign all Restorative/Rehab Aide staff to residents. Assign break times and all regular and special assignments.
  • Performs other nursing care assignments by working as a floor nurse when needed.
  • Only practices nursing procedures and tasks with the scope of licensure.
  • Ensure resident care plans are being followed and asses each resident’s status in accordance with their care plan.
  • Round with physicians when needed.
  • Must be knowledgeable of individual care plans and support the care planning process by reporting specific information and observations of the resident’s needs, preferences and report any behavioral changes.
  • Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when providing care. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
  • Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to appropriate persons.
  • Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
  • Answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously.
  • Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position may oversee responsibilities for ADON duties and Restorative/Rehab Aide staff.

Work Environment
This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility while pulling or pushing carts. This position works mostly in the resident care areas as well as in occasional outside weather conditions. 

This role may also come into contact with residents who may have contagious illnesses. 

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires mobility, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects and patients weighing over 75 pounds (ability to adequately lift, support, and bodily manipulate the weight of a patient). Fine hand coordination, ability to read and write, the ability to understand and follow written, oral instructions and directions. Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This position is part of a health care facility that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
