As a Housing Navigator, you will work in a supportive housing setting based out of Mercer County, NJ.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm; 30 minute unpaid lunch. Flexibility to meet needs of households

Responsibilities:

• Identifying appropriate rental opportunities and maintaining a data base of same for each of the following counties: Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset and Union

• Conduct an assessment interview with each household referred to determine their needs and obstacles they may face in a search for housing

• Identify potential housing opportunities; assist household with completing housing applications

• Advocate for the household with potential landlords

• Provide written information about landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities to both the program participants and landlords

• Review and explain the requirements of the lease in order to assist the program participants understand their responsibilities.

• Participate with staff meeting and other program meetings/activities.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Use of personal vehicle is required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree plus one (1) year experience in real estate, property management or housing assistance;
• Valid Driver's License required
