What You’ll Do Outpatient nurses are an essential part of Oaklawn’s psychiatric services. As patient advocates, they are responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting direct and indirect care in the ambulatory setting. We are open to being flexible in scheduling and job-sharing for this outpatient position. Through collaboration with other members of the team, our nurses:
Evaluate and triage patient telephone calls
Assess a patient's mental and physical condition by collecting vital signs and other data and appropriately document all findings in the electronic medical record.
Schedule tests and referral to other healthcare providers
Process prescription refills and prior authorizations
Provide health, medication, and illness education to patients and their families
Apply communication, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to assist patients and their families
Minimum hiring requirements:
Current Indiana LPN or RN license required.
Prior psychiatric experience preferred or we're happy to train you!
We offer competitive compensation and career advancement opportunities. There is a $2000 sign-on bonus for LPN and a $3000 sign-on bonus for a RN (pro-rated by FTE).
