This is a voluntary summer position.
Programs will be held on campus and follow COVID-19 safety rules.
Summer programs will continue to follow any and all public health guidelines regarding COVID, as applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach a classroom of students coming from a dual language background with a roughly 70% and 30% English environment in a week. This includes:

• Follow and use grade and subject matter appropriate curriculum (Benchmark Adelante, Haggerty, Eureka Math)
• Language arts will be in Spanish and Math will be in English with a focus on the transferability of technical language.
• Create a positive, achievement-oriented and structured learning environment that motivates and supports students.
• Execute daily instruction responsibilities
• Provide feedback to students and regularly share their progress toward their goals.
• Use culturally relevant pedagogy

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to -

• BCLAD or in process
• Valid teaching credential
• Training and experience in the specific programs are required
• Must show proficiency and willingness to work in a digital space while holding students accountable.
• Demonstrate ability to motivate at-risk youth
• Training and experience with online platforms like Raz-Kids, Adelante/Advance.
• Must be proficient in standards-based instruction and assessment
• Demonstrate ability to motivate at-risk youth

Per OEA contract Article 23.3.3.3, unit members will not be selected for more than two consecutive years. Should no qualified applicants apply, unit members may serve for more than two consecutive years.
OEA Contract: 23.3.3.5 Employment shall be contingent upon enrollment
