Exciting opportunity to join a private optometry practice. We offer flexible hours, weekdays only, hours of operation are 9:30-5:30 Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and 10AM-6PM Wednesdays.
JOB SUMMARY: Welcoming & Greeting patients, Answering Phones, Patient Scheduling, Obtaining Insurance Authorizations, and Pretesting Patients.

Duties and Responsibilities
Greeting / welcoming patients with a smile and positive attitude – This must occur before anything else!
Insurance authorizations and eligibility: Verifying insurance coverage and eligibility daily for vision and Medicare.
Receiving patients in: Making sure any paperwork that is needed is completed including the Intake Form
Scheduling, confirming and rescheduling patient's appointments
Answering telephones & taking messages
Checking answering machine/voicemails
Learning different lens styles, materials and options in both glasses and contact lenses
Being knowledgeable about patient’s insurance plans
Assisting patients in finding out details about their insurance coverage
Keeping track of patient insurances, co-pays, deductibles and other expenses.
Maintaining office and keeping front office clean
Finding and preparing patient charts the day before.
Checking patients out, reviewing the routing slip and collecting payment
Straighten up waiting area (clean up brochures, magazines, etc.) daily.
Clean optical displays (dusting/windexing glass surfaces and mirrors, straightening out frames to face forward)
Dispensing patient’s contact lens orders and ensuring all payments have been paid in full.
Make sure there are enough patient history forms and office use forms copied
Assisting the doctor with daily office tasks, filing, faxing, other office duties.
Required Education: High school diploma at minimum
No optical experiences required; training provided.
