EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Under limited supervision, participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a recreational program such as special events, campground activities and mobile recreation, including the transportation, set up, maintenance and supervision of inflatables, climbing towers, zip-lines, and retro games activities. Interacts with park visitors of all ages. Provides customer service to the general public. Communicates with staff, volunteers, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Responds to customer concerns, complaints, and emergencies individually and within large groups of people. Interprets and enforces park and program rules and regulations. Maintains program-related records. Works weekends, evenings, and holidays. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
1. Before beginning employment, candidates will be required to provide Parks & Recreation with documentation from the Michigan Department of Human Services (previously called Family Independence Agency) that they have not been named in a central registry case as the perpetrator of child abuse or child neglect. In addition, applicants being considered for hire will be asked to sign a form authorizing Parks & Recreation to request and receive a criminal history check in accordance with the privacy act of 1974.Applicants for positions at Parks & Recreation will not be considered if they have been convicted of either of the following: (a) Child Abuse or Neglect.(b) A felony involving harm or threatened harm to an individual within the 10 years immediately preceding the date of hire.2. Must maintain a valid United States driver's or chauffeur's license.
