Insurance Office Assistant

Independent insurance agency located in Land O Lakes seeks someone to join our team.

Oakes & Assoc. Ins. Agency is a well-established and growing hometown agency located in the heart of Land O' Lakes, FL since 1979.

Office Assistant/ Receptionist available for immediate hire.

Seeking a strong candidate with excellent people skills. Must have the ability to provide excellent customer service and follow up, strong phone/computer skills, have good judgment, the ability to problem solve, and multi-task. You must be dependable, professional and work closely as a team player. Bilingual is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities include and may not be limited to:

  • Answer the phone and assist accordingly.
  • Take customer payments, explain billing.
  • Assist with data entry of client/ company information.
  • Be able to effectively use management system- QQ Catalyst, Outlooks, Microsoft Teams
  • Compose correspondence.
  • Scanning
  • Ability to take on new tasks.
  • Assist agents with daily tasks, follow ups.
  • Review and work daily transaction reports as needed.
  • Take quote information for agents.
  • Work independently to resolve practical problems.
  • Deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing.
  • Reliability, punctuality and professional demeanor and appearance are essential.
  • Create and maintain a positive impression for clients consistently through various means of communication.
  • Positively interact within a team environment.
  • Perform with an exceptional attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with multi-line telephone system
  • Strong computer literacy including experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to comply with internal processes
  • Ability to prioritize activities on a daily basis to accomplish goals with minimal supervision
  • Strong desire to achieve and learn new technologies and skills
  • Basic understanding of Property & Casualty Insurance Preferred but not required.
  • Able to work in high volume fast paced environment

Pay: Starting at $21.00 to $23.00 per hour, Paid Bi-Weekly

  • Monday-Friday 8:30am -4:30pm
  • 2- 15 Min Breaks or 1- 30 min lunch included per 8-hour shift
