Music Appreciation

Act as musical director for shows in collaboration with the Theatre Director and collaborate with the Visual and Performing Arts Department on an Evening of the Arts as well as department goals.

Prepare, direct, and accompany Liturgical Choirs (Middle and Upper schools) for weekly Mass, special holy days, and other school-wide Masses.

Musical direction responsibilities include overseeing all musical aspects of the annual Middle School and Upper School shows including teaching the music/vocal coaching, accompanying rehearsals, preparing and directing the performance ensemble, and overseeing the sound technology, as well as working in conjunction with the Theatre Director and Production Team in selecting appropriate shows, conducting auditions, and supervising students during rehearsals and performances.

Enhance school celebrations with music (Awards Day, Junior Ring, etc).

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education (or related degree with teaching experience/training) with a choral conducting emphasis or experience conducting choral ensembles (Master’s preferred)

Minimum 3 years teaching experience and proficiency in choral methods

Piano proficiency

Experience directing musicals

Familiarity with sound technology

Arranging skills

Ensemble travel experience abroad
