Oakbrook Preparatory School is Hiring a 5th Grade / Middle School Teacher Near Spartanburg, SC

We are looking for a passionate Middle School Teacher to help students develop and flourish throughout the school year. A Middle School Teacher develops ways to help students grow in the classroom by setting an excellent example and providing lessons that meet the needs of all students.

A Middle School Teacher’s responsibilities include managing a classroom, communicating, and teaching one or more subjects clearly and within the bounds of school procedures. They must also monitor each student’s progress and provide extra mentorship as needed.

Ultimately, you will work directly with students to ensure the success and development of your classroom throughout the year.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Giving and grading assignments, homework, and tests
  • Helping students prepare for standardized testing
  • Overseeing students during recess, lunch, and other activities
  • The creativity to create engaging lesson plans and inspire students to learn
  • Talking to parents about their children’s progress

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in subject matter preferred.
  • Teaching credential preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of teaching is preferred.
  • Agreement with Oakbrook's Statement of Faith.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.
  • Collaborative work ethic
  • Good sense of humor and warm demeanor

As a non-denominational Christian school, all Oakbrook teachers are required to agree with the school's statement of faith.
