OAKBEND MEDICAL CENTER is Hiring a Maternal Program Manager - Perinatal - Full Time - Days Near Richmond, TX

Responsibilities:

The MATERNAL PROGRAM MANAGER (MPM) ensures strategic and operational responsibility for the Maternal Program. Assists in promoting optimal care to the pregnant and immediately postpartum patient through clinical activities, professional and public education, injury prevention, and quality improvement and patient safety. The MPM acts as a resource person to all patient care areas regarding nursing care as related to the pregnant and immediately postpartum patient. Functions as a liaison for maternal care by maintaining effective lines of communication with all concerned parties. The MPM provides education and administrative support for unit operations and ensures effective and efficient implementation of key educational processes at the unit level. The Maternal Program Manager, the Director of Perinatal Services, and the Maternal Medical Director are responsible for overall management of the Maternal Program. The Maternal Program Manager will actively participate in the development of a regionalized maternal care system. This includes participating in the PCR meetings, QAPI regional activities, and regional collaboratives, and submit requested data to assist with data analysis to evaluate regional outcomes as an element of the QAPI plan.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program- Registered Nurse. Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience, education and training or Masters Degree.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 years nursing practice in a Labor and Delivery setting with emphasis on leadership & management experience highly preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse. Current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification. Advance Cardiac Life Support and NRP. Certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required within one year of hire.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Labor and Delivery: Validation is required for the skills needed in the following areas of care: Triage, Antepartum, Labor, Vaginal Delivery, OR Circulation, C-Section Recovery, Vaginal Deliver

Recovery, Transition and Couplet Care.

Validation is required for the skills needed to operate: Cardiac Monitor; Glucometer; Oxygen Flow Meter; Pulse Oximeter; Infusion Pumps; Defibrillator; Emergency Cart;

Radiant Warmer; PCA Pump; Phototherapy Equipment (Bili Lights/Bili Meter) and Transport Incubator.

Transition: Validation is required for the skills needed in the following areas of care: Care and stabilization of the Neonate; care of Infant with hypoglycemia; knowledge of IDM, SGA, AGA and LGA protocols; Cardiac/respiratory monitoring and management; Intravenous management; care of normal newborn; and Gastrointestinal management (NG/OG tubes, bottle & assist with breast feeding).

Validation is required for the skills needed to operate: Cardiac Monitor; Glucometer; Oxygen Flow Meter; Pulse Oximeter; Infusion Pumps; Defibrillator; Emergency Cart; thermoregulation of neonate (Radiant Warmer, Open Crib & Isolette); Phototherapy Equipment (Bili Lights/Bili Meter) and Transport Incubator.

Mother/Baby: Validation is required for the skills needed in the following areas of care: Couplet Care; post-partum care of mother; and care of newborn.

Validation is required for the skills needed to operate: Cardiac Monitor, Glucometer, Oxygen Flow Meter, Pulse Oximeter, Infusion Pumps, Defibrillator, Emergency Cart, Radiant Warmer, PCA Pump, Phototherapy Equipment (Bili Lights/Bili Meter) and Transport Incubator.
