The Employee Health Nurse should have the ability to use excellent communication skills and is responsible for screening the applicant for credentials and skills. Responsible for immunization and testing and maintaining the employee health registry and other duties assigned by the department Director. The Employee Health nurse provides initial and ongoing orientation and training in infection control/employee health principles and practices to all hospital employees. This position is also responsible for assisting in coordinating activities to improve performance based on results.
Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
One to two years in a hospital setting.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATION
Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse
REQUIRED SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Possesses good oral and written communication skills. Previous hospital based work experience a plus but not required. Possesses basic computer skills, basic typing skills and good phone etiquette skills. Ability to multitask.
WORK SCHEDULE
Normally scheduled 8-hour work days, Monday Friday; however, additional hours may be required due to increase in workload, assignment and completion of special projects. Must be flexible if required to work long or irregular hours.
