Overview

To monitor, control, and perform a full range of professional accounting duties involved in fiscal management, record keeping, reporting and financial analysis of the convention center. Primarily responsible for Accounts Receivable and Payable.

Responsibilities

• Process customer invoices and payments; communicate AR aging with respective staff
• Detail processing for accounts receivable, and collection calls for outstanding payments
• Reconcile AR event management system with financial system
• Assist with month end closing procedures, and preparation of financial statements
• Process invoices for payment; includes matching invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents as applicable. Ensure account codes are accurate and invoices are paid current
• Receive, process, and track subcontractors billing for events, coordinate with Sales & Event staff
• Maintain and provide monthly report of outstanding deposits for license fees, F&B, and services
• Reconciles AR and AP control accounts to detail aging, input journal entries
• Perform related professional accounting work in support of accounting functions
• Examine and verify a variety of financial documents and reports
• Prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses
• Apply accounting principles to the maintenance of financial and accounting transactions and audit of financial records involved for in-house food and beverage operations
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications

• Two years of professional accounting experience preferably including some supervisory experience and significant work in financial auditing
• A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, or business administration or a closely related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
• Application of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to a variety of accounting audits, transactions, and problems
• Principles and practices of financial auditing and inventory accounting methods
• Financial report preparation methods and techniques
• Modern office procedures, methods and related computer equipment
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Operate a ten key calculator by touch at a speed necessary for successful job performance
• Operate a computer to perform accounting functions
• Proficient in MAS 200, Ungerboeck preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
