Oak View Group is Hiring a Seasonal Park Attendant|Part-time| Dallas Fair Park Near Dallas, TX

Overview

Fair Park First values the critical role that frontline staff play in creating an onsite experience that is accessible and inclusive for all. To support this, Fair Park is seeking an energetic, guest-service-oriented problem-solver to support our weekly Spring and Summer programs and outdoor events.

The Part Time Park Attendant staff welcome guests at Fair Park and play a critical role in ensuring that patrons enjoy their time in the park during park programming and events, as well as other times. Park Attendants are friendly and forward-facing team members who interact with guests and provide superior customer service and assistance with guest needs.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $18.00.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lend park amenities such as games, books, art supplies, and movable seating within the activity area to guests; set up, breakdown, and organize all amenities and equipment as needed
  • Supervise and lead guest interaction with park amenities, equipment, and outdoor activities
  • Set up, maintain, and keep clean activities and programming in your designated area
  • Monitor and remain in assigned areas; report any issues or repair needs and notify Manager on Duty of all necessary updates or conditions
  • Provide excellent customer service to Fair Park visitors, answer questions clearly, escort guests as needed, be open to feedback from visitors, and approach and speak to guests as appropriate
  • Assist with programs and special activities as needed and as assigned by the Manager
  • Collaborate with all Fair Park staff as needed
  • Be in assigned uniform at all times while on duty
  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Attend to your assigned position during the event
  • Know all rules and regulations for admittance to your area
  • Know Fair Park layout, including restrooms and exits
  • Monitor guests and inform Supervisor of developing problems
  • Respond in a quick and professional manner to incidents
  • Be aware of all special functions or activities that occur during the event
  • Represent Fair Park First, its values and priorities, in the community and with the public
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D, or some college/college degree preferred
  • Park or non-profit experience, highly desired
  • CPR trained, preferred
  • Preferred min age of 18

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • High level of comfort in taking initiative and willingness to navigate new situations
  • Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to be effective independently
  • Ability to deal with unexpected situations calmly and professionally
  • Able to work in an outdoor environment
  • Must be able to lift and push items up to 30 lbs
