This position is based at our Stormont Vail Events Center . The 80-acre site in the center of Topeka now known as the Stormont Vail Events Center has a long history of use for activities related to agriculture, farming, exhibitions, education and entertainment. Stormont Vail Events Center is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose arena built in 1987 in Topeka, Kansas. Landon Arena, named for Kansas' elder statesman, governor Alfred M. Landon (18871987) was built 1987. • Patrol all assigned locations as directed, stationary and mobile.
• Work independently, judges and assesses situations for immediate response.
• Secures property from damage, theft, and vandalism.
• Courteously investigates persons who look suspicious or out of place.
• Responds to emergencies, incidents, accidents, and requests for service as required.
• Maintains records, logs, databases, filing systems, and other necessary records/forms as directed by the Security Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid Drivers license required.
• High School diploma or GED certification.
• Six months to one year of security experience, preferably in a similar environment.
• CLEET Certified Law Enforcement Officer.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions.
• Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
• Regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
