Overview:

This position is a Director of Ticketing overseeing multiple types of ticketing systems and venues. Responsible for the administration and management of the computerized ticketing syste at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Amica Mutual Pavilion. Supervises Ticket Sellers and Assistant Box Office Manager, and customer service staff. Responsible for venue seating manifest and coordination of changes in venue configuration with promoters and ticketing agency. Responsible for non-computerized ticketing sales. Balances event Box Office statements. Performs pre- event manifest planning with Booking and Operations division. Responsibilities also include cash flow management, vault operations to include petty cash and deposit administration. Performs recordkeeping on a daily basis as required and provides special reporting on a daily basis to meet the needs of promoters, advertising staff, operations staff and the business office.

This jo pays a salary of $90,000-$102,000 per year.

About the Venue:

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Providence, the RICC is within walking distance to restaurants, hotels, shops, art galleries, night clubs, museums and more. We offer 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, 20,000 square feet of ballroom space, 23 meeting rooms, and 30,000 square feet of pre-function space.

Responsibilities:

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, skills required of employees so classified.

  • Administration and management of computerized ticketing system from point of event booking through event settlement.
  • Input and retrieve data from ticketing system.
  • Coordinates ticket sales with ticketing system provider ($30M annual sales).
  • Maintains contact with the event promoter from initial booking through event settlement.
  • Configures and re-configures the Venues to meet specifications set forth by the Event Promoter and changes to anticipated attendance.
  • Work with promoters to develop scaling and ticket pricing for events to include presales, VIP Packages, auctions, flexible pricing and ticket exchange.
  • Monitor sales and communicate sales patterns to promoter to maximize sales and potential revenue as well as ensure that tickets sales for the event are distributed throughout all available seats.
  • Configures and reconfigures venues to achieve a full house appearance and maximize sight-lines.
  • Communicate with internal staff with regard to event sales to comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Works with operations departments on event set-up and changes, works with marketing dept to implement discounts and special offers, update other key staff on projected attendance.
  • Initiates and monitors group sales activity between the promoter and group sales manager.
  • Cash flow management for Box Office.
  • Supervises and oversees Box Office and cash vault security as well as the checking in, storage and inventory of all tickets.
  • Provide daily reporting as well as event receipts reports to Business Office to assist with event posting and balancing to comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the selection of Box Office staff.
  • Provides or coordinates staff training. Evaluates employee performance. Works with employees to correct deficiencies.
  • Implements disciplinary procedures.
  • Schedules and supervises full time employand part time ticketing staff.
  • Reviews scheduling and supervision of roster employees.
  • Oversees ticketing for all suite holders and club members including ticketing printing and mailing.
  • Communicates with members about upcoming events, changes to their normal seating, processes orders and oversees monthly ticket mailing.
  • Directs, trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned employees in compliance with Federal, State and Local laws/regulations and Human Resources policies and provides the guidance by which assigned employees can change to more effective programs/methodologies and grow in technological and procedural efficiencies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The minimum amount of formal education typically required to be hired for/promoted into the position. The minimum amount of working time, beyond education (or equivalent), required to be hired for/promoted into the position.

Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 7 to 9 years of related experience.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
Thorough knowledge of ticketing systems including industry trends and new products/services in the market place. Ability to communicate effectively with promoters and internal staff . Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with event promoters including but not limited to concert promoters, national and conference athletic governing bodies, in addition to divisions within the facility. Maintains knowledge of current concert tours and keeps abreast of changes in ticketing procedures for returning events such as NCAA basketball. Knowledge of ADA laws and updates to that law as it applies to all venues at facility. Knowledge of cash, banking and vault procedures. Knowledge of personnel procedures as they apply to hiring, discipline and termination of staff. Ability to multi-task. Ability to prioritize tasks, lead team members and delegate duties to ensure task completion. Responsible for meeting the contractual obligations to design, implement software and event manifest seating and oversee a Season Ticket Holders Account portfolio using a proprietary Ticketmaster Archtics systems for: NBA G League SwarmUNCG Division I Basketball Season Guilford College Bryan Lecture SeriesArena Football Team Carolina Cobras Non Athletic events at Wake Forest's 14,000 seat Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum and 35,000 BB&T Field through direction and coordination with Contracted Event Promoters.Implement required Manifest information and provide backup documentation for multiple reporting deadlines and settlement for ticket sales and financial accounting balances for third party entities such as the ACC, NCAA USA Swimming, USA Gymnastics, USA Figure Skating Organizations.Oversee multiple simultaneous operated satelite Box Offices at the SEC, WOA, WOA Event Space, GAC while supervising daily sales activity and Cash Management of over $30M annually.
