POSITION: The Dishwasher is to hygienically cleanand rinse at proper temperatures all dishes, utensils, pans and trays.

REPORTING: This position is responsible to theDietary Services Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred

License: None Required

Work Experience: Ability to operate a dishwashing machine

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: § Checkand make necessary adjustment to insure correct temperature and sanitizer levelof each wash and rinse
cycle for dishwasher prior to use, anddocument recordings
§ Removedishes and utensils, etc., from tray, scrape, wash and rinse according toposted instructions in the facility
dishwasher, making sure correcttemperatures are maintained
§ Washand rinse all food preparation items
§ Washand rinse trays
§ Properstacking or storing of all clean dry items in their correct locations
§ Assistin kitchen cleanup after each meal
§ AssistDietary Aide in tray preparation as assigned by the Cook or Dietary ServicesSupervisor
§ Helpbus and wash tables and chairs
§ Followassigned schedule and specific procedure for cleaning:
§ Refrigeratorsand freezers
§ Iceand coffee machines
§ Floors,walls, windows
§ Ovens,stoves, hoods
§ Shelves,cupboards, sinks
§ Steamtables, carts and under work table
§ Cleanand mop dietary floors using separate mops and proper procedures
§ EnsureDietary Department is in order and all appliances turned off when shift isover. (Evening Dishwasher
only)
§ Emptygarbage cans and re-line with bags
§ Performmanual dishwashing according to established procedure in the event thedishwashing machine is
inoperable
§ Promptlyreport all broken, damaged or inoperable equipment to the Cook. Maintain thefacility’s dishwasher(s)
properly; wipe down after each use;clean thoroughly monthly according to manufacturer’s instructions
§ Practiceinfection control policies and procedures of the department and facility
§ Practicesafety policies and procedures of the department and facility
§ Becourteous, considerate and cooperative when communicating with all facilitypersonnel, residents and public
§ Respondappropriately to emergencies and disaster situations
§ Attendin-service education and staff meetings as required
