OAK RIVER REHAB is Hiring a COVID - Medical Assistant/Medical Records Assistant Near Anderson, CA
Oak River Rehab is looking for a COVID Medical Assistant. The COVID Medical Assistant will work in a variety of roles with a patient-centered care team to provide COVID-19-related services and other support to Oak River Rehab patients and community members. Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing, the COVID MA will be responsible for utilizing Electronic Health Record systems, administering COVID-19 testing, N95 fit testing, supporting the facilitation of patient flow and testing tent operations, and participating fully in team quality improvement efforts.
This is a full time, benefit eligible position, working 40 hours/week.
Compensation: based on level of experience
COVID-19 Vaccine Policy
In accordance with Oak River Rehab’s commitment to provide and maintain a workplace that is free of known hazards, we have adopted a Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccine Policy to safeguard the health of our employees and their families; our patients and visitors; and the community at large from infectious diseases, that vaccinations may reduce. This policy will comply with all applicable laws and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Order of the California State Public Health Officer. Unless a reasonable medical or religious accommodation is approved, all employees must receive COVID-19 vaccinations.
Responsibilities
COVID Testing
- Administer COVID-19 oropharyngeal, and mid-turbinate swab tests at outdoor COVID testing operations.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record system to document patient registration and patient tracking, and to review schedules as necessary.
- Submit COVID-19 testing lab orders, create lab requisitions, and prepare the COVID-19 testing kit for COVID Tester use.
- Assist patient flow by guiding patients to the appropriate location at the testing site.
- Contact patients to reschedule and cancel appointments as necessary.
- Stock medical supplies and keep inventory as needed.
N95 Fit Testing
- Administer N95 mask fit testing for all current and incoming staff members.
Medical Records Assistant
- Assist the Director of Medical Records with clerical and electronic duties, as time allows.
General Duties
- Maintain infection control protocols while in vaccine and testing tents.
- Communicate with Oak River administration and staff about vaccine and testing operations as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
All employees are provided with personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Conduct oneself in internal and external settings in a way that reflects positively on Oak River Rehab as an organization of professional, confident, and sensitive staff.
- Make appropriate use of knowledge/ expertise/ connections of other staff.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma/equivalent, and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and experience in a clinic setting.
