SUMMARY

Provides housekeeping services to ensure a safe, sanitary and comfortable environment for residents, staff, visitors, and the public. As the housekeeper you will keep all resident rooms, activity & dining rooms and public spaces clean. This position ensures our community is presented in a positive manner and continues to make it a great place to live.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Cleans (dust, dry mop, wet mop, sanitize, scrub) assigned resident rooms, bathrooms and common areas daily according to facility procedures.
• Respects residents' privacy and preferences about room arrangement and personal items. Knocks before entering resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Cleans walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxes floors according to department procedures and cleaning schedules.
• Takes appropriate actions to secure housekeeping supplies out of reach of residents at all times.
• Disposes of trash and waste, including bio-hazardous waste and other materials that require special handling, only in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
• Must be able to read and understand cleaning instructions and dwell times of chemicals.
• Must be able to differentiate between cleaning products and uses.
• Prior housekeeping experience in an institutional setting preferred.
• MUST have Transportation as there is no public transport in area.
• Ability to pass a background check, E-verify and drug screen.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

Working in institutional environment, employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, see, talk and hear. May occasionally lift or move items of up to 75 pounds.

Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Possible exposure to blood, body fluids, biohazard waste, communicable disease or virus like COVID or CDIFF and other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Frequent exposure to chemicals. Constant exposure to wet or humid (non-weather) conditions. Moderate noise level in work area. Requires hand-eye coordination. Resident interaction throughout workday.
