Oak Hill Veterinary Care and Pet Resort is Hiring an Associate Veterinarian Near Madison, VA

Oak Hill Veterinary Care & Pet Resort is Growing! We are looking for a skilled Veterinarian (Full or Part-Time, new grads welcome) to join Madison Heights’ newest and most advanced private practice in the region. If you want old tools and type-writers, pass on this opportunity because at Oak Hill, our facility has: Cloud-based paperless medical records, full in-house bloodwork lab, digital dental, and general radiograph equipment, ultrasound, and separate suites for both surgical and dental needs, if our equipment were any more modern, it’d have a new car smell. Except for the autoclave, that scent is universal.

Madison Heights is next door to Lynchburg, Virginia and a great place to establish a family, grow a family, or even escape the family! With more vineyards, hikes, shopping, and breweries than fleas on a dog (our facility is clean, you see, so we don’t have fleas), you’ll have ample to do and time to do it. At Oak Hill, we do flex schedules and don’t do ‘After-Hours’ emergencies. We round out our services with superb pet care, lodging, daycare, and grooming. Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in a variety of animals
- Perform surgical procedures as needed
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans
- Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment options
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members

Qualifications:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
- State veterinary license in good standing
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry and care
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology
- Experience in animal handling and restraint
- Ability to perform aseptic techniques during surgeries
- Knowledge of equine, kennel, dog training, and pet grooming practices is a plus
