Oak Hill Academy is Hiring a Special Education Transition Skills Coordinator Near Farmers, TX
General Description:
Our school for students with complex learning differences seeks a Transition Skills Coordinator to help us prepare these unique learners for the next phase of their lives. This position would help students and families maximize their potential as independent and functioning members of their broader community.
We are a small, private, PK-12 school that specializes in students with special needs, mostly autism. This position would work primarily with our juniors and seniors. Ideally, we'd love someone with a vocational rehab background or some case management experience with the Texas Workforce Commission. This job does require some classroom teaching as the transition skills coordinator teaches transition skills classes. However, classroom teaching experience is not a prerequisite. Other responsibilities would include making community contacts for externship experiences for our students, growing and maintaining our post-grad resource lists for students and parents, working with parents to facilitate transition planning, etc. This job does NOT require a teaching certification and there is not an excessive paperwork load. We are located in north Dallas.
