Summary

The Production Assistant will provide assistance to operators on various pieces of equipment and prepare product for shipment to client.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures products are grouped, processed, and packaged correctly by checking job numbers, control numbers, quantities, and package contents to verify that all product matches with the job ticket instruction and to maintain high quality and accuracy of shipments
• Interprets job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
• Assist machine operator with various tasks throughout the production process
• Examines finished products for defects. Immediately reports any errors or defects to the operator, shift lead or department manager
• Feeds multiple pockets with covers, signatures, and sheets into machines for folding, and inserting operations
• Removes, stacks, and packs printed material in various stages of completion as it accumulates on delivery table of machines
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School graduate, or completion of GED preferred
• Bilingual preferred
• Up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous manufacturing experience is a plus
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as operational directives, procedures and basic instructions
• Perform all work and activities with honesty and integrity
• High attention to detail
• Accept responsibility for accuracy, productivity, quality and timeliness of work
• Effectively communicate (and listen) clearly, professionally, politely and persuasively in all situations; respond well and in a reasonable, timely manner

Working Conditions

Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to perform the following activities for the majority of the day: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb. In addition, requires the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to noise and be required to wear hearing protection for the duration of the shift.
