Job Description

As a Unit Plant Manager, you will manage the total operation of the production lines of an assigned furnace on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis through the line management system and continuous shift operation to maximize production performance within established safety, quality and cost parameters.

The Unit Plant Manager will: 

• Drive the plant furnace to achieve key performance goals (safety, quality, total cost, productivity, and flexibility)
• Promote a manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement culture
• Conduct production meetings and sponsor morning TPC meetings 
• Lead and manage projects including furnace work and rebuilds 
• Successfully meet plant KPI’s 
• Manage performance and development for all direct reports

The Unit Plant Manager should have: 

• Proven management and continuous improvement skills 
• Ability to collaborate with team members and support employee engagement 
• Ability to coach, mentor, and energize team members
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong presentation skills 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or other related field) preferred
• At least 5 years of experience supervising/leading people and processes in glass manufacturing required
• 3 years of forming and glass conditioning experience preferred
• Must have significant understanding of Flow Manufacturing concepts that use Continuous Improvement
• Strategic thinker, with clear vision and direction
• Must be team-orientated with excellent change management and people skills

Additional Information

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $105,000 - $125,000 and includes a possible 15% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
