O'Hara Outdoors is Hiring a Landscape Designer Near Bluffton, SC

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented Landscape Designer to join our Bluffton, SC team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating outdoor spaces that harmonize with the environment and meet clients' specifications. This candidate will have proven experience in custom residential work, and is responsible for estimating, presenting, and closing sales.

General Duties:

  • Collaborate with our internal design team and other colleagues to develop landscape design landscape construction proposals that meet customer specifications.
  • Estimate costs associated with project(s) installation.
  • Present design proposals to customers
  • Create detailed landscape designs and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Illustrate design ideas through hand sketches or digital renderings.
  • Overcome objections and obstacles to close various sales opportunities.
  • Own the sales process for organic leads coming into the organization.
  • Own the bidding cycle: Estimate costs associated with project(s) installation, Present design proposals to customers, Overcome objections and obstacles to close sale.
  • Be an effective sale closer and track the projects and open quotes at various stages of the sales cycle.
  • Be able and willing to prospect for new customers, which will include cold calling. Not to rely solely on organic leads.
  • Attending company and department meetings as required.
  • Oversee and execute permits, ARB approval process.
  • Fully embrace CRM duties and calendar management (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)
  • Effective tracking of pipeline portfolio in Aspire (CRM) and be able to report on it weekly.
  • Consistently track Lead Source in Aspire (CRM)
  • Own the Aspire (CRM) data integrity of your assigned accounts and prospects, such as collecting emails, etc.
  • Ensure crews adhere to company safety standards and wear proper PPE
  • Coordinate and track subcontractor work
  • Ensure that all extras added to a job are documented, approved by project owner, and billed accordingly
  • Foster strong relationships with new and existing clients, responding to client concerns in a timely manner
  • Maintain or improve relationships with vendors, contractors, landscape architects and other prominent figures
  • Present a professional attitude and appearance at all times
  • Additionally, this role will provide support to the operations department from time to time at the discretion of the Branch Manager. Specifically relating to construction/Enhancement projects. Supervise installation of projects on site during install
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree/Certificate or equivalent experience in Landscape Design or related field (Preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years Landscape Design experience (Required)
  • Expertise: High level understanding of landscape operations, including grading, drainage, planting, irrigation, masonry, carpentry and lighting (Required)
  • Computers: Proficiency in Word, Excel, iOS devices, Aspire (Preferred)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Required)
  • Languages: English, Bi-lingual Spanish (Desired)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read architectural drawings and layout products based on the design
  • Ability to supervise landscape construction team to meet or exceed company production rates
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Horticultural, masonry and drainage knowledge

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
