The Construction Crew Lead is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labor) to assist with the completion of construction and enhancement projects. The Construction Crew Lead will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks, as well as leadership and accountability of 1-3 laborers.

JOB DUTIES

• Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project.
• Operate various tools and equipment, including chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
• Operate equipment, including skid steers, mini excavators, sod cutters, mini-track loader, etc.
• Proficient in using a transit to shoot grade.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete.
• Assist in the construction of walkways, fences, decks, posts, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning daily.
• Dig ditches or trenches.
• Perform land clearing activities.
• Softscape installations, including plantings and grading.
• Identify plants and execute proper plant care.
• Hardscape installations, including retaining walls, pavers, walkways, patios, driveways, outdoor living spaces, etc.
• Drainage installations.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction and enhancement projects.
• Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying.
• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Comply with all company policies and regulations.
• Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
• Ability to lead and manage a crew in proper execution of the project scope of work and professional behavior on the jobsite.

REQUIREMENTS

• A Valid Driver’s License

• Capable of operating equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision and as part of a team.
• Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Proficient in the tasks of planting, grading, drainage.
