Primary Function:
Operate manually / automatically loaded wax injection machines where complex die assembly /
disassembly is required to produce a quality wax pattern.
Tools and Equipment:
Wax injection machines, dies, inserts, rework tools, rack, storage trays, c-clamps, wax holding tanks,
air hose, spreaders, electronic media, etc.
Material:
Petroleum based waxes, die lubricants and cleaners, rework tools, scotchbrite pads, etc.
Direction of Others:
May be required to give guidance and direction to the Wax Injection Machine Operator B
Working Procedure:
Under the guidance and supervision of the department supervisor and the group leader, the Wax
Injection Machine Operator
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF
OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT.
1 Shall follow all of the safety requirements as posted on the job safety card.
2 Shall consistently follow all applicable work instructions.
3 Shall receive daily work assignments from the department supervisor or the department group
leader.
4 Shall, in conformance with the wax instructions, operate manually / automatically loaded wax
injection machines.
5 Shall make required adjustments to clamp pressure, wax injection pressure, nozzle temperature,
and wax flow rate.
6 Shall disassemble / assemble complex dies using care to extract a quality wax pattern.
Approvals:
7 Shall maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
8 Shall visually inspect the wax patterns for defects that could result in the scrapping of the wax
pattern reworking minor defects such as excessive flow lines with a dental tool.
9 Shall notify the department supervisor of any recurring problems, or problems that can't be readily
resolved.
10 Shall monitor, transfer, and add wax to the proper level in the wax tank throughout the shift.
11 Shall maintain all labor vouchers, records and files in a clean and orderly condition, and enter all
required information into the Company software in an accurate and timely manner.
12 Shall check and record wax control dimensions per wax instructions.
13 Shall document machine settings as required.
14 Shall attend and successfully complete hazardous material / waste handling classes.
15 Shall attend and successfully complete training in basic blueprint reading and measuring techniques.
16 Shall attend and successfully complete lockout / tagout training classes.
17 Shall perform other duties as assigned.
