O'Connor Construction Management, Inc. is Hiring a Proposal Manager Near Irvine, CA

The OCMI Marketing Team is growing! We are seeking a full-time Proposal Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the A/E/C industry. This is a remote position, but the propensity of work will be for California. The position will report to the Director of Marketing & Business Development. As a dedicated Proposal Manager, you will be a collaborative part of a marketing team that spearheads nationwide pursuits and supports technical staff. This position will lead marketing initiatives and support the corporate office.

The Proposal Manager responsibilities include:

  • Lead the preparation, production, and delivery of prime proposals
  • Must possess advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign
  • Must have an understanding of design and/or construction industry and the ability to convey this through writing and graphics
  • Coordinate, manage, and maintain various marketing projects for the organization including: writing/creating persuasive content; qualification, proposal, and presentation activities; and collateral materials development
  • Review potential opportunities and make go/no go recommendations
  • Responsible for reviewing solicitations and developing proposal compliance matrices identifying central response themes
  • Conduct QA/QC on final proposal response focused on grammar, RFQ/RFQ compliance, and checking for conformance to proposal themes
  • Demonstrated strategic marketing skills
  • Manage award nomination submittals
  • Research and gather information on potential clients, projects, and target markets and conduct research
  • Represent the firm to clients, peer organizations, and business associates with the values of OCMI
  • Lead initiatives to accomplish marketing-related aspects of the corporate vision
  • Support website, PR, social media, content marketing and other as-needed related items
  • Advise and implement inbound marketing and digital marketing with corporate marketing team

This position will be trained daily by an in-house team so share with us why you think you’d be a good match based on these desired skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated strategic marketing skills and understanding of basic marketing principles
  • Understanding of Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry terminology and procedures is a huge plus, but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and be proactive
  • Work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of people
