NYU Langone Health, a world-class, patient-centered, integrated, academic medical center, is one of the nation's premier centers for excellence in clinical care, biomedical research and medical education.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to fill the position of Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This individual will play a pivotal role in further advancing our commitment to an inclusive culture within the department and the NYU Langone Health community.

Job Description:

The Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will report directly to the Department Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, serve as a key member of the department executive committee, and chair the department’s Health Equity Council (DHEC).In addition to clinical responsibilities, this Vice Chair will have allocated time and administrative support for the following leadership responsibilities:

1.Vision and Leadership:

·Provide vision and leadership in fostering a culture of inclusive excellence across the department.

·Oversee the strategy for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the department.

2.Committee Leadership:

·Chair the department’s Health Equity Council (DHEC), playing a pivotal role in steering DEI efforts.

3.Collaboration and Coordination:

·Work collaboratively with the Office of Diversity Affairs (ODA), the Institute for Equity in Health Education (IEHE), and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

4.Implementation of Health Equity Goals:

·Operationalize and successfully implement health equity goals in the areas of research, clinical care, and medical education.

5.Recruitment, Retention, and Career Advancement:

·Facilitate the recruitment, retention, and career advancement of underrepresented in medicine (URiM), LGBTQ , and other minoritized faculty and trainees.

Job Expectations:

The Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is expected to:

1.Lead DHEC's Efforts:

·Establish health equity goals across the clinical, research, and medical education mission of the department.

·Oversee the implementation of the strategic direction of the department’s DEI efforts.

2.Community Building:

·Promote an inclusive community by developing strategies for the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce within the department.

3.Infrastructure Development:

·Work collaboratively with the ODA, IEHE, and the CMO to develop the infrastructure necessary to advance DEI goals in the department.

Salary:

$300,000 to $500,000.The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Successfully completed a U.S. Accredited OB/GYN Residency training program

Hold a New York State Medical license.

Proven track record in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Strong leadership and communication skills.
