Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Full-Time Permanent Program Coordinator, Bilingual Preferred - 9000 Shore Road Brooklyn. 
In this role, the successful candidate Coordinates programs in a social adult day program that fosters the intellectual, personal and social development of participants. Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of participants. Plan and implement programming that includes art music exercise games exercise and movement that engages and stimulates participants . Develops care plans for each individual participant and develops goals and staff interventions to help participants to achieve their goals and monitors their progress

Job Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate the intellectual personal and social development of participants
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Inform administration immediately of any conditions detrimental to the health, safety, or orderly delivery of educational services
    • Attend and assist when necessary with events in the Senior Center
    • Maintain daily attendance records and provide monthly reports for the funding sources that will be reviewed by Director before submission
    • Responsible for obtaining program materials and maintaining supplies and equipment
    • Communicate with family members about progress and changes of the participant in program and provide when appropriate suggestions for activities to do at home
    • Motivate participants through effective communication and feedback
    • Work with staff in developing a service plan for each participant which includes outcomes interventions and 6 month evaluations.
    • Assess new clients and to reassess every 6 months ongoing participants.
    • Train and supervise volunteers including students from local schools to help in the Seniors in Touch program
    • Ensure that Personal Care Assistants receive the required training to meet program standards
    • Research and explore other partnerships and teaching strategies for seniors who exhibit cognitive ( i.e. dementia) and physical deficits to be incorporated into the Program
    • Plan and implement programming that includes art music exercise games exercise and movement that engages and stimulates participants
    • Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of participants

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance in the development and implementation of an outreach and recruitment strategy to expand program participation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Two years relevant experience with older adults, dementia, and/or alzheimer's preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years experience working in a program for older adults with memory loss.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 - $60,840.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
