Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Implant Inventory Associate - LOH. In this role, the successful candidate position assume responsibility of the inventory management for all orthopedic implants that are both consigned and non-consigned under the direction of the Inventory Manager and nursing leadership. Work collaboratively with nursing administrative staff and inventory management for all aspects for orthopedic implants. Assists in the development of appropriate controls and procedures for implants as well as ensuring adequate security measures for the implant room. Prepares and analyzes reports for departmental operational efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Reviews in advance the surgical schedule of bookings (computer or paper) to determine implant requirements.
    • Prepares necessary implants for next days cases.
    • Deliver implants to operating room according to daily surgical schedule.
    • Takes necessary action steps to ensure smooth flow of operation in implant room.
    • Enforces and assure security measures for room and drawer access.
    • Maintains a used and wasted implant log in computer database.
    • Maintains SMO files, packing slips, invoices, and other documents associated with total joint implant vendors.
    • Maintains implant file along with updating prices and new items.
    • Initiates tool for reconciliation of delivered and uses/wasted implants on required documents.
    • Plans with Senior Nurse Clinician implant needs for adequate stock for upcoming cases.
    • As directed by Senior Nurse Clinician and Inventory Manager Coordinates daily implant requirements with surgical services vendors to meet the demands of the daily schedule.
    • Coordinates with Senior Nurse Clinician the re-ordering, re-stocking, and reconciliation of discrepancies of the implants based upon established par levels.
    • Identifies and communicates any backorders, recalls, or discontinued items with Senior Nurse Clinician and Inventory Manager.
    • Perform all inventory functions with vendor sales rep, i.e. quarterly inventory, reconciliations, item updates, recalls, backorders, etc.
    • Maintains proper shelf and drawer configurations along with current par levels, item descriptions and appropriate labeling.
    • Enter charges accurately and in a timely fashion for all implants used in surgery using EMR system.
    • Provides analytical reports to the Inventory and Business Manager upon request.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 years of related healthcare experience required knowledge of anatomy and physiology along with orthopedic implants and instrumentation preferred. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $43,789.69 - $52,530.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
