The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine is currently recruiting for a Child and Adolescent Psychologist for our HealthySteps Program. The HealthySteps Program is an evidence-based program for parents and young children ages birth to 3 that is integrated within the primary care pediatric clinic at Bellevue Hospital Center. HealthySteps aims to promote healthy early childhood development and positive parent-child relationships. Healthy Steps is one of several components of the 3-2-1 IMPACT program at NYC Health Hospitals. The Integrated Model for Parents and Children Together (IMPACT) program aims to support the health and well-being of young children and their families.

The HealthySteps Specialist is embedded within the primary care pediatric clinic and is part of a multi-disciplinary team including pediatricians, community health workers, and social workers. The Specialist is a child clinical psychologist (Ph.D or Psy.D.) with a strong interest and/or knowledge of early childhood mental health and development, parenting, and maternal mental health.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide support and guidance around child development and parenting to high-risk families at their preventive pediatric well child visits;
• Conduct behavioral and developmental assessments and assist with referrals for more intensive services such as Early intervention;
• Address positive maternal mental health screenings, conduct brief assessments, and work closely with the Women’s Health Reproductive Psychiatrist and Social Workers to collaborate on referrals;
• Participate in developing appropriate referral plans for patients/families who need additional services outside of Bellevue;
• Work closely with the programs under the IMPACT umbrella as well as with Community Health workers; Provide supervision to clinical staff and/or trainees as assigned.

• Includes an academic appointment at NYU Langone at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• The salary range listed is for full-time employment.

Minimum qualifications:

• PhD or PsyD required
• Trained in working with children/adolescents
• Licensed in NY State

 Minimum Salary: $109,500

 Maximum Salary: $123,515
