The Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act) has created the most aggressive climate change goals in the nation and requires an ambitious agenda that blends proven catalysts with innovative approaches while operating across a broader energy arena that is rapidly evolving. NYSERDA seeks an independent and self-motivated individual to join its Clean Transportation team to implement and coordinate innovative programs that advance the deployment of zero-emission medium & heavy-duty vehicles, light-duty electric vehicles (EVs) and EV charging stations in New York State. This role will require frequent coordination with internal NYSERDA administrative counterparts, program implementation contractors, in addition to maintaining close working relations with public and private sector partners.
The successful candidate will also support the Clean Transportation Team’s established EV charging incentive programs by streamlining processes, spearheading operations improvement and effecting program changes that respond to changing market dynamics and New York State mandates. The position also includes opportunities to shape clean transportation policy development at the State and Regional levels.

This position requires someone with strong project management skills, attention to detail and experience with customer-facing programs. Additionally, solid interpersonal communication, time management and problem-solving skills are a must.
Established technical knowledge of EV chargers, electric vehicles and electric utility programs is preferred. An understanding of clean transportation policy, and/or environmental policy is also preferred. The successful candidate will serve as project manager on several projects/programs at once and be responsible for overseeing various workstreams that ensure the successful operations of the programs. Ability to work in a cross-functional team and experience with business operations, customer-facing programs, program design and public administration are preferred.
The Project Manager will be expected to travel approximately 5-10% of professionally committed time to meet with team members, stakeholders and potential partners.
