New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation is responsible for providing safe and enjoyable recreational and interpretive opportunities for all NY state residents and visitors. The parks offer various recreational activities including, but not limited to, hiking trails, campsites, and golf courses, and are accessible to all.

Role Description

This is an on-site role in Saratoga Springs, NY for a Public Safety Dispatcher. The Public Safety Dispatcher will be responsible for dispatching emergency services, communication with law enforcement agencies, and coordinating with other public safety agencies. Additionally, the Public Safety Dispatcher will maintain accurate and organized records.

Qualifications

  • Emergency Services, Dispatching, Communication, and Law Enforcement skills
  • Dispatch appropriate personnel and resources to incidents
  • Operate and maintain communication systems, including phone systems and radio equipment
  • Utilize law enforcement databases and software for data entry and record keeping
  • Provide accurate and timely information to callers, officers, and other agencies
  • Coordinate with other public safety agencies to ensure effective response and collaboration
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Adhere to department policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint

Job Type:

Part-time with potential fulltime opportunities

Expected hours: 32-40 per week – Hours are seasonal – summer is peak season.
