Primary Role:

This position supports Grades PK-12. Under the direction of the Chief of Schools, the Federal Programs Coordinator administers the planning, organization, and direction of federal programs in cooperation with leadership and support staff. The Coordinator performs highly complex, managerial, and strategic work and is responsible for administering, coordinating, and implementing all federal programs. The Coordinator exercises critical judgment and considerable initiative in administering and coordinating of all federal programming. Performs related work as directed. 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education, administration, or related field
  • Three years of educational leadership
  • Experience in federal programs and/or grant management
  • Proficiency in data analytics
  • Experience leading collaborative efforts with stakeholders responsible for coordination, implementation, and monitoring of federal programs and grants

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Program Focus

  • Administers, directs, and manages all federal programming to promote and facilitate a successful learning environment, and the accomplishment of District, Campus, and School Board schedules, goals, and objectives.
  • Provides leadership and direction for all state and federal programs, including, grant writing, program implementation, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Ensures internal compliance with federal guidelines, state statutes, and administrative regulations for all federal programming; and assists division leadership and schools in implementation.
  • Plans, administers, and monitors all federal budgets including state/national grants in collaboration with school and district-level administrators.
  •  Maintains confidentiality of federal program records. 
  • Prepares reports and information for the school board regarding the application for and acquisition of federal funds.
  • Prepares various reports and documentation for school leaders, the Texas Education Agency, and the Federal Government.
  • Advises the Superintendent regarding matters related to federal programming and other matters. 
  • Provides leadership and direction for grant-funded programs, budget, and staff. 
  • Develops, monitors, supervises, and manages all aspects of the annual budgets for federal programs; and coordinates budget requests with campuses relative to federal programs.
  • Supports and participates in District High-Reliability School initiatives as aligned with the Campus Improvement Plans and Federal Programs.
  • Serves as District Coordinator for Emerging Bilingual Program: attends required training specific to Emerging Bilingual, oversees compliance, program development, and services that are aligned with student needs.
  • Coordinates or leads professional development as appropriate to facilitate improvement and/or compliance in identified State & Federal programs, including the Emerging Bilingual Program.
  • Collaborates with Data Fellow and Campus Principals to support the school's effort in Closing the Gaps.
  • Serves as point person and coordinates activities for legal and audit matters about State and Federal program compliance.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salaries for this role typically start between $62,589 and $87,582, commensurate with relevant qualifications and years of experience.
