Nyobolt is Hiring an Associate Electrolyte Scientist Near Bedford, MA

We are looking for an Associate Electrolyte Scientist who will play a key role in our cell engineering team. This role will help give us a better understanding of our fast-charging technology and will make a great addition to our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support battery electrolyte experiments to meet product requirements and R&D objectives. 
  • Conduct standard test procedures and protocols for electrolyte R&D purposes. 
  • Apply diagnostics to investigate cell reactions and conduct failure mode analysis to identify root causes and propose novel solutions. 
  • Assist with the electrolyte development plan as aligned with company goals, and track execution progress. 
  • Support the product and process development teams in material evaluation, cell building, cell testing, and data analysis. 
  • Work with suppliers to exchange technical information and enable access to advanced electrolyte research. 
  • Summarize, report on, and present research activities regularly. 
  • Support Cell Engineer in electrolyte research by executing day to day tasks such as cell assembly, glovebox handling, and data analysis. 
Qualifications:
  • MS, Ph.D. preferred, in Science, Engineering, or related field with 1 years of experience; or BS, BSE in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemical Engineering, or equivalent with 2-6 years of hands on commercial/industrial battery R&D experience. 
  • Understanding of lithium-ion chemistry and battery components, especially in liquid electrolytes 
  • Experience working in a glove box
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with characterization instruments and methods used in lithium-ion batteries, such asCV, EIS, SEM-EDX, TG-DSC, GC-MS, ICP, XRD, etc.
  • Demonstrated capability of designing experiments to drive decisions in an industrial R&D environment a plus.
  • Experience with electrochemical cell characterization; three-electrode cells and familiarity with Maccor/Neware or other equivalent testing systems a plus
