Job Description:
1. Directs the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the infection prevention and control program
3. Fosters a work environment conducive to building motivated and productive work force4. Provides consultation and expert guidance on infection control related issues to other departments and services
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Holds and maintains Certification in Infection Control (CIC) issued by the Certification Board of Infection
Control and Epidemiology (CBIC); and,
2. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Medical
Technology, Public Health, Nursing or a related field; and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time paid
experience in a responsible administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity, in the development of
infection prevention and control programs, analysis and reporting of health care-associated infections, and
other related infection prevention and control functions in a hospital or a health care setting; or
3. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in fields, as described in “2” above; and three (3)
years of satisfactory, full-time paid progressively responsible experience, as described in “2” above, one (1)
year of which must have been in a responsible administrative, managerial, or supervisory capacity; or
4. A satisfactory equivalent of education, training, and/or experience. However, all candidates must have at
least a Bachelor’s degree in fields, as described in “2” above, and hold and maintain a CIC Certification.
