The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation’s largest public housing authority, with an operating budget of $3.3 billion and approximately 10,600 employees who manage and maintain 325 developments that house over 400,000 residents. NYCHA also operates the country’s largest Section 8 program, which provides rental assistance to over 200,000 additional families.
The Community Coordinate for Bronx Property Management Department will be assisting the team with needed supervisory, administrative, and clerical support. The selected candidate will perform duties under the supervision of the Section 8 Administrator and the VP of Bronx PHO and/or designee, with some latitude for independent judgement and action.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Provide and improve community services by performing liaison functions including communicating between departments, developments, and community organization and groups.
2. Build relationships with other departments and divisions within and outside NYCHA.
3. Strategize recommendations for actions to address property conditions and assists in coordinating the implementation of corrective actions and ensure compliance with recommendations.
4. Organize and conduct meetings around waste management and present information to various stakeholders.
5. Write memos synthesizing takeaways and recommendations from meetings.
6. Verify data and asset location throughout the portfolio.
7. Review data and information from Section 8 Team.
8. Train subordinate personnel on project tasks.
9. Supervise staff.
