The Borough President Office of Queens is seeking a Support Engineer to assist with day to day desktop and audio video support needs. The candidate responsibilities will include but not limited to all level I and II desktop issues, rolling out new computers, printers, mobile devices and assisting with IT projects. The candidate for this position must demonstrate a minimum of 2 years work experience with desktop and A/V equipment experience. In addition the applicant must have very good customer service skills, ability to work alone on issues, and skilled in researching issues.
Responsibilities
Take lead on desktop, laptop and A/V user support issues with the guidance of the director of IT.
Identify, research and troubleshoot IT issues
Answer end users’ questions about desktop and applications in person, by email or phone.
Produce and perform end user training on applications and services as require.
Desktop software installation
Resolve desktop, laptop software or hardware issues
Resolve mobile device issues
Setup A/V equipment for Borough Hall events.
A/V recording and/or audio production of Borough Hall events.
Prepare new and reimaged computers
Assist with IT inventory management.
Assist with other tasks as assigned
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
