JOB DESCRIPTION

NY Enrichment Group seeks several reliable, self-motivated, independent, fun-loving, Tennis Instructors to join our team. The Tennis instructor will develop, plan and lead drills and tennis activities for youth. The successful candidate will create opportunities where students are active, safe, and respectful while developing leadership and conflict-resolution skills. The instructor must be enthusiastic and exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to the communities we serve and demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire and educate.

Duties include:

• Leading tennis and physical movement drills for youth particularly 1st - 4th grade
• Creating curriculum & lesson plans for each session.
• Facilitating classes that follow a social group work model
• Responsible for managing a classroom of 15-20 students
• Prep for classes: arriving 15 minutes to set up and prepare to start class on time.
• Clean up: must leave locations in the condition found, or cleaner.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, and scholars.
• Follow up after classes with NYEG Director of Operations.
• Maintain a positive, healthy, safe, supportive and welcoming environment.

COVID vaccination REQUIRED.

Requirements:

• Candidate should be highly responsible, reliable, punctual, flexible, outspoken, honest, self-motivated, and work with integrity. This is an independent role, with little direct supervision.
• Candidate should be comfortable working with children, and comfortable working independently leading a class of students. Candidate should be a clear communicator, have a positive attitude, and be able to manage a classroom effectively.
• Relevant performance experience

Preferred but not necessary:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• At least 2 years of experience working with youth
• Teaching experience and classroom management skills
• A knowledge of, and willingness to teach obstacle course fitness

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour
